Partners for Stennis & Michoud is introducing a revamped approach to its 2025 program of work, shifting from its traditional large-scale events to a series of more focused meetings aimed at strengthening advocacy efforts for NASA’s Stennis Space Center and the Michoud Assembly Facility. This initiative will enhance engagement with key stakeholders across Mississippi and Louisiana.
Rather than hosting the annual Stennis Capitol Day and the Community Center Director’s Briefing, Partners will organize smaller, more targeted meetings with elected officials, Partners members, and other key decision-makers. These gatherings, formatted as breakfast, lunch, or dinner sessions, will provide a more direct and impactful means of communicating the economic significance of Stennis and Michoud to the region.
“These new sessions will allow us to deepen our relationships with policymakers and community leaders while ensuring that the vital role of Stennis and Michoud in space exploration and regional economic development remains front and center,” said Partners for Stennis & Michoud Chairman Mark Glorioso. “By expanding our reach and tailoring our approach, we can create stronger connections and more meaningful discussions.”
The new Community Conversations with NASA Stennis series will kick off with a Spring Session on April 16th, followed by a Fall Session in Jackson and a Winter Session in Slidell. These gatherings will be open to sponsors at different levels, with Platinum, Gold, and Silver Partner opportunities available.
In addition to these regional meetings, Partners for Stennis & Michoud will continue to support advocacy efforts through its Citizens for Space Exploration (CSE) Annual DC Fly-ins. The Freshmen Fly-In on March 11-12 will introduce newly elected members of Congress to the importance of a well-funded space program, while the Annual DC Fly-In on May 19-22 will bring together advocates from across the nation to meet with congressional representatives.
Other key events for 2025 include the Port-Air-Space Day in the Bay on November 8th, which will highlight the intersection of maritime, aerospace, and space industries, and the Louisiana Capitol Day on May 22nd, where volunteers will engage with legislators to reinforce the significance of NASA and related industries.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for all events, providing businesses and organizations a chance to align with space and economic development advocacy.
